Acme. Yes, like the roadrunner. Acme literally means the best, perfection—yet, like the roadrunner, it's whimsical. So, while we're very serious about creating incredible environments and guest experiences, we don't take ourselves too seriously. The way we look at it, we're not just in the restaurant and hotel business, we're in the happiness business.
Since its founding by hospitality visionary Sherry Villanueva, Acme has been dedicated to the urban renewal of downtown places, brought back to life by her passion for people. Sherry believes people breathe life into places through connections with one another. Hospitality with Heart means that when you combine a passion for people, a love of places and the pursuit of fun, anything is possible.

Our focus is on creating meaningful partnerships that align with our values and the needs of those around us. These include groups with missions centered on:
We proudly partner with organizations such as the Santa Barbara Foodbank, Direct Relief, Mental Wellness Center, Hospitality House Grass Valley, KVMR Radio, Rüdiger Foundation, Center for the Arts Grass Valley, The Fund for Santa Barbara, Planned Parenthood, and World Central Kitchen to make a meaningful impact both locally and globally. Our goal is to support programs that enhance the quality of life for individuals, families in need, and our staff—strengthening communities near and far.
By collaborating with groups like Girls Inc., Amplify Arts, CALM, Juneteenth SB, Music in the Mountains, and Pacific Pride Foundation, we prioritize initiatives that support women, children, and marginalized groups, fostering long-term growth and development.
We work with organizations like Wild & Scenic Film Festival, Bear Yuba Land Trust, Surfrider Foundation, Explore Ecology, Santa Barbara Botanical Garden, and the Natural History Museum to champion sustainability and environmental conservation, especially in coastal regions like Santa Barbara. Our restaurants are Ocean Friendly Restaurant certified, and we are committed to responsible sourcing and protecting the environment.
Through partnerships with the James Beard Foundation, Independent Restaurant Coalition, Santa Barbara Culinary Experience, Restaurants Care, California Restaurant Association, and Taste of Santa Barbara, we advocate for restaurant workers and celebrate culinary excellence.
Working with Vitalant California for blood donation, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer, and Santa Barbara Vintners Foundation, we support health initiatives on both a local and national scale.
